Farmer Brothers Coffee
When Farmer Brothers Coffee relocated to Texas from California, they needed a new corporate headquarters that provided production, packaging, and distribution capabilIties. This new facility in North Texas includes a 258,338 square-foot distribution center, a 194,438 square-foot state-of-the-art coffee production facility, and 84,823 square feet of office space for its nearly 400 corporate employees.
The project is anticipated to be LEED Silver-certified. The design/construction team utilized BIM technology throughout the project to streamline the construction process while identifying obstacles, unnecessary costs, and opportunities to add value. Due to scheduling demands, the owner and contractor utilized a fast-tracked construction schedule requiring early issuance of foundation and structural drawings in advance of other disciplines. The Dallas Business Journal awarded the project its 2015 "Best Outside Relocation Real Estate Deal Awards."
The design/build team was headed by EMJ Corporation with architectural design by RGA Architects of Roanoke, TX and Gensler of Dallas, TX. Process design was provided by Faithful + Gould- Atlanta, Georgia.
