The Master Plan for the 15 acre Training Center includes a high rise, convenience store, and residential burn buildings, trench rescue, confined space, car fire, rail car, industrial fire props, and a driving track including a 500’ long skid pad and a 2-acre skills pad area.  The project designer was abercrombie planning+design.

Phase 1 of the project included a four story burn tower, a storage building with restrooms, and associated roadways, propane storage system and utilities.  The site is connected to Fire Station No. 8 and the City of Temple Emergence Operations Center.  The site is also on Draughon-Miller Central Texas Regional Airport property so coordination with FAA and airport officials was necessary.  The Architect for Phase 1 of the Training Center was Architectural Edge Inc. located in Temple.
