First Baptist Dallas

Construction was recently completed for the First Baptist Dallas Worship Center and Education Building located in the Central Business District in downtown Dallas. Four existing buildings were imploded to make room for the new Worship Center. A fifth building is being demolished by hand to preserve the existing sanctuary that was constructed in 1890. An existing parking garage was also demolished to make room for a new 5 story education building and a new parking structure. The new 3,000 seat Worship Center and the new Education Building are connected by a skybridge that spans across St. Paul Street. The overall square footage for the new building is 489,815 sq. ft. with an overall budget of $115,000,000. The Architect for the project was Beck.

Fort Worth Public Safety Training Facility

Komatsu Architecture, Brinkley Sargent Wiginton Architects, and G2 Solutions Group were the Architects of Record for this $101.5 million police and fire training center and headquarters in south Fort Worth. The center gives the police and fire departments more training capacity, improved and consolidated training, and moves the City closer to adding a sixth police patrol division to the fast-growing far north. The training center is built on the grounds of the former 75-acre GSA Federal Depot, which the City of Fort Worth purchased for the project. The project included the demolition of 500,000 sf of warehouse space, renovation another 500,000 sf in two historic buildings and the design and construction of a 60,000 sf administration building for both Police and Fire operations.

Life High School

Life High School is dedicated to expanding and providing families and cities in the Dallas metroplex with quality, free education. HGA partnered with Beck’s Architecture and Construction team to design a 130,000-sf state-of-the-art campus to serve 1,000 high schoolers in grades 9-12 in the City of Waxahachie. The project, which took advantage of the new 2014 rule in the State of Texas which allows charter schools to access guaranteed bonds through the $37.7-billion Permanent School Fund, included classrooms, science labs, computer labs, an audiovisual lab, competition gym, locker rooms, weight rooms, black box theater, band hall, cafeteria, and a kitchen large enough to serve all of the Life School campuses.

Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT)

BRIT’s 69,000-square-foot home in Fort Worth’s Cultural District was built on a 5.2-acre site adjacent to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. The project was designed to be a LEED Platinum certified campus. The BRIT project recently earned top honors in DFW at the Topping Out industry awards. The architects for the facility are H3 and Corgan Architects.

Trinity Basin Preparatory

Trinity Basin Preparatory purchased a 1.82 Acre lot in Dallas looking to expand and develop their first Middle School. The project included a 24,500 sf 3 story building, 4,750 sf Gymnasium, and 1,000 sf Administration Office. The new facility was opened in 2014. The Architects were Deborah Williams & Katherine Eversole Design

Alcuin School Campus Expansion

HGA, working with Perkins+Will, completed the project in 2008 for the addition of a 35,000 square foot middle school and a 29,000 square foot community building containing a new gymnasium located on Churchill Way in Dallas. Our involvement included survey, site plan development, grading and drainage, storm water pollution prevention plan, and water and sanitary sewer design. The next phase of the project includes a new field house and the replacement of an existing classroom building with a new state-of-art language arts building. This project is presently under construction.

Concord Church

With a budget of $18,700,000, the 84,000 square foot expansion of this existing facility includes a new worship center with 3,500 seats and associated parking on the 24 acre site. This project involved the preparation of demolition, paving, grading, drainage and water and wastewater plans. The Architect for this project is Beck. The project was completed in 2012. A second project for Concord Baptist Church was a parking lot expansion that included 557 new parking spaces and the extension of three city streets to accommodate the additional parking.

HGA prepared Civil Design plans for several Capital One Banks in 2014-2016. Typical services included survey, site civil engineering, landscape architecture, permitting, and construction phase services.

Crosspoint Church

This project included the addition of 13,000 square foot building and associated parking for a Children’s Education building. Our involvement included site planning and civil document preparation for the expansion of this existing facility. This project involved the preparation of demolition, paving, grading, drainage and water and wastewater plans.

Oaks Fellowship Youth Center

Civil Design Services for this 49,000 sq. ft. addition included a utility relocation package, site grading, drainage, survey and landscape. The utility relocation was coordinated with Rocket Water (a regional water district) and was phased to reduce the impact on existing charter school operation. This included over 1,800 feet of new sanitary sewer lines and over 500 feet of new waterline. The Architect is Equip Studio. The project is under construction.
